The Case Files of The Magician Detective

The Magician Detective has an eye on things...

The work of The Magician Detective is never done.
His is a heavy burden, and much of it is spent watching, waiting, and making note of the many occurrences amongst The Seven Layers of Space.
While much might seem mundane to you or I, to him, a much more intricate grid-work is always unfolding.

The CASE of the ROBOT and the SPACEMAN

The CASE of the ROBOT and the SPACEMAN

The Sports Robot sat where he had sat for the last six weeks and two days. In a chair on the moon. He sat and he read nice new magazines.

He did not expect guests, because to him, guests did not exist.
So he could not be blamed for being surprised at the arrival of The Spaceman.

He was no more surprised that The Spaceman arrived on an ultra-rare Inter-Stellar Septonic Narwalrus than he he was at the arrival itself, though you or I would be rather taken aback by his entrance.

Being a bit of a showman, The Spaceman was disappointed by the robot's reaction to his magnificent entrance. This did nothing, however, to prevent them from becoming fast friends (which in its turn did nothing to convince Sports Robot to share his magazines...)

The CASE of the LOST LONELY EARHART

The CASE of the LOST LONELY EARHART

She'd been at sea for seven days before she began to hear the Night Beasts of Then.

At first she thought it was the howling of the whipping winds or the creaking of a board. She stepped on to the sea-slick decks, and as dawn broke she saw them, what had only been nursery dreams and butcher-boy rumors were now real and breathing before her.

This was why she had left.

To the west, a Tarkathian Sea Serpent cleared its throat before returning to its Endless Song, above her a Nartroovian NettleBird clambered through the air, once again headed to and fro betwixt  a limitless network of hodgepodge nests.

By night, she would be surrounded. She would be home.

The CASE of the SQUID and the BACON

The CASE of the SQUID and the BACON

As it was, so had it ever been.

Once again the giant lidded eye stirred and Squid Kingsley rose and sought unmitigated destruction.

But there was always one who knew what he needed. A sworn enemy who understood him as no one else could. Salbert the S.C.U.B.A. Diver heard the call, went to the local Burrito Bar, and got the one item that could appease the ancient beast’s deep hunger.

A plate of bacon.

Sometimes, though, Salbert had a hard time sharing, or Squid Kingsley got extra hungry. As the years went by, the squid and the diver became more and more alike.

Until one day, Salbert never returned...
