It is not hyperbole to state that Maiko is one of my favorite living artists. Her work is a transformative inspiration and joy. Can you figure out which crow is me?!?
This show is Maiko’s reimagining of the ancient mythological Japanese text, The Kojiki. Shinto gods and Japan itself come to life as everyday objects in a profound mixture of ceremony and whimsy. It is truly extraordinary work.
And all of Sock Puppet City is along for the ride, our own amazing Leigh Walter is also stage managing this ragtag crew of crows. I’m overwhelmed and overjoyed to perform with this magnificent murder.
