'A Perfect Party for Trees' at the Autism Nature Trail!

"...perhaps the greatest gift this new play offers its audience is intangible: the freedom to be themselves." -The New York Times

The incredible show that I was fortunate enough to co-create with Trusty Sidekick Theatre company, A Perfect Party for Trees, is returning to its ROOTS!

Last summer it was my honor to both write and co-produce this piece of immersive theater designed for and with the neurodiverse and autism community. It was originally inspired by the Autism Nature Trail in Perry, NY, and now we’re finally bringing this show home!

It features music by the amazing Jesse Greenberg and Naeemah Maddox who also star alongside the unstoppable John Rankin Jr. Stunning and innovative tactile puppets by Eric Wright, iconic and imaginative costumes by Natalie Loveland, and clear-eyed direction and co-creation with my incredible cohorts Andrew Duff and Leigh Walter. And really, we all did everything, it was a big forest party of creativity and joy, and we can’t wait to bring this show to the place that inspired it.

A Perfect Party for Trees takes audiences on an outdoor promenade adventure as we join The Bear, The Beekeeper and Ms. Branch in their quest to create the perfect birthday party for the forest. The show features an original score of acoustic music, multi-sensory activities and a cast of puppet sidekicks. Our party hosts will lead families through nature as we create a gentle and playful space for our audience to dig like a badger, sing like a bird, and sit quietly like a tree to become a part of the forest itself. With no wrong way to celebrate, it will be the perfect party every time.
